Max McCann and the Displacements
Max McCann has a cool, smooth style, which translates from his personality into his music…  He is a very versatile musician who can lay down some mean Stevie Ray Vaughn, or slip into some smooth jazz, as well as perform a plethora of his own originals.   "I like instrumentals...  I like the fact that a song doesn't have to be about anything, we do lots of jamming, just letting a song do its thing.  It’s never going to be the same twice".

Max is a graduate of the Guitar Institute of Technology founded in 1977 with an innovative curriculum developed by jazz guitarist Howard Roberts.  This school eventually grew into a comprehensive contemporary music college that prepares students for careers in the music industry as both performers and professionals.  After that, Max found himself living the life in Key West, playing gigs at Mallory Square.  “It was the early 90s, and the scene was still fresh down there.   I literally parked my RV in a vacant lot just down from Sloppy Joes for like 7 months for free.   That was back when they still had House Boat row and things were a little less commercial.  It was a lot of fun!”

He has released 2 CD’s and toured throughout the Eastern US and Europe "It was Amsterdam and Frankfurt, Germany that put me on the map," he said. "I would be playing huge festivals every summer for thousands of people.  Back in America, I started doing openings for Jerry Garcia's Band, E.L.O., War, and Big Mountain”.

Max moved to SW FL about 5 years ago, and now plays at concerts, festivals, private parties, and other regional venues.  "I am currently working on a few different recordings and really leaning towards the "Smooth Jazz,” he added, “making it Funky." "With the new CD, I am determined to get on the big stage (again) and start doing larger performances, I would consider touring again."  For schedules and booking information, you can e-mail Max McCann directly at: MMccann670@aol.com.

Max was just featured at the PG Wine & Jazz Fest, followed by the world famous guitarist Peter White who join the lovely and talented Mindi Abair.  Max will be featured on the main stage during the Englewood Music Festival on March 6th in Englewood, FL at 3:30pm...  Don't MISS IT!     Reserve your tickets here>>>
